Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) will join House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and House Democratic Members on a trip to Israel and the Palestinian Territories from August 2nd to 8th to learn more about issues critical to the U.S. – Israel relationship and international security.
WILMINGTON, DE – Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) will join House Democratic Whip Steny H. Hoyer (MD-05) and House Democratic Members on a trip to Israel and the Palestinian Territories from August 2nd to 8th to learn more about issues critical to the U.S. – Israel relationship and international security. “I’m looking forward to traveling with my colleagues to Israel to continue building our relationship with one of our strongest allies,” Congresswoman Blunt Rochester said. “It is absolutely critical that Members of Congress have the opportunity first-hand to meet with Israeli and Palestinian leaders to ensure we properly understand the challenges they’re facing as well as to ensure we are taking every necessary step to put our national and global security first.” Hoyer and the delegation will meet with Israeli and Palestinian government officials, including Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah. They will also meet with U.S. Ambassador David Friedman and military officials, and they will visit important historical and cultural sites, including the Yad Vashem Holocaust Memorial. The trip is organized by the American Israel Education Foundation, an independent, nonprofit charitable organization. ### |
