Summary of H.R. 987, the MORE Health Education Act, can be found here. WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL), member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, applauded the inclusion of the MORE Health Education Act in the Labor, Health, Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies spending bill that advanced out of the full House Appropriations Committee on Wednesday. The MORE Health Education Act is also expected to come before the full House of Representatives for a vote next week. “When the Administration slashed the ACA’s marketing and outreach budget by 90%, they undermined the stability of the individual marketplace by decreasing enrollment, eroding the overall risk pool, and raising premiums for every family,” said Congresswoman Blunt Rochester, member of the House Committee on Energy and Commerce. “It is clear that the American people choose to get covered once they are informed of the correct time to sign up for health care and the financial options available to make coverage affordable. My focus is on stabilizing the Affordable Care Act, lowering costs for everyday Americans, and improving this landmark legislation to move this nation towards universal coverage. To accomplish those goals, we need to arm Delawareans and people across the nation with the right information to select the coverage that’s best for them. That’s why I was proud to introduce the MORE Health Education Act, and I am pleased that it has passed the House Energy and Commerce Committee and has now been included in the FY2020 Labor, Health and Human Services, Education, and Related Agencies bill. I look forward to working with my colleagues to continue advancing this critical piece of legislation.” ### |
