WASHINGTON, D.C. – Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (DE-AL) issued the following statement after learning of Rep. Devin Nunes (CA-22) decision to recuse himself from the investigation into connections between President Trump and Russia. “I am pleased that Rep. Nunes has decided to recuse himself from the investigation on Russia. Recently, I called for this action because even the appearance of a lack of impartiality compromises the credibility of the investigation. The House Intelligence investigation must be independent and it must get back on track. I implore my colleagues on the other side of the aisle to work with us to determine exactly what influence Russia had in our election. The American people deserve the truth, and it’s time for all of us to stand up for our democracy, our constituents and the safety and security of the American people.”
