WILMINGTON, DE - Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) called on utility companies that serve Delawareans to commit to not cutting off service during the COVID-19 outbreak, issuing the following statement.
“As we continue to confront the COVID-19 outbreak in our state and across the country, I am calling on the utilities in Delaware to keep the lights and water on during this uncertain time. Now is the time for us to come together and keep our communities safe. That means ensuring that the electricity stays on in our households and that our communities have access to clean, safe drinking water. I applaud and thank those that have taken initial steps to ease payment burdens and call on a full commitment to keep the lights and water on for families during this difficult time. This is an unprecedented time, and my top priority is to keep Delawareans safe.”
