Blunt Rochester Applauds Supreme Court Upholding Abortion Rights

WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) applauded the Supreme Court’s, June Medical Services v. Russo decision, striking down a Louisiana law attempting to restrict access to abortion services, issuing the following statement:
“Today, the Supreme Court once again struck down a state law aimed at restricting access to abortion care. In so doing, they recognized the constitutional right of a person to make health care decisions in their best interest. While today’s decision is welcome news, we know that the attacks on abortion care will not stop. That is why Congress must immediately take up and pass the Women’s Health Protection Act, which assures the right to access abortion care, free from obstacles and medically unnecessary restrictions.”
