WASHINGTON - Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.), issued the following statement following President Joseph R. Biden’s State of the Union Address to a Joint Session of Congress.
“The first two years of the Biden-Harris Administration have been historic, and as the President said this evening, while the state of our union is strong - our work is not finished. Under the leadership of President Biden, we’ve passed transformational legislation to vaccinate millions of Americans, kickstart our economy, honor our sacred promise to our veterans, and make the single largest investment to fight the climate crisis in our history.
“Tonight, in a new era of divided government, the President struck an optimistic tone - one of progress and possibility. I join President Biden’s call to work together to finish the job for the American people - to secure the future of our middle class, fight to protect our fundamental rights and freedoms, and protect our democracy, which serves as the foundation of all of our work. For my part, I’ll continue my efforts to secure our supply chains and bring good-paying manufacturing jobs back to America. As the President so often says, there’s nothing we can’t do when we do it together.”
