HARRINGTON, Del.  — Today, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) joined Delaware Secretary of Agriculture Michael T. Scuse for a visit to the Delaware State Fair, a yearly event that celebrates Delaware’s strong agricultural sector, one of Delaware’s primary economic drivers, through exhibits, competitions, food, and fun. Blunt Rochester visited several vendors, exhibitions, and her office’s table in the Delaware Building.

Blunt Rochester also visited the New Castle Building, now being used year-round by the Delaware 4-H and FFA Association, which was updated with $937,500 in Community Project Funding that Blunt Rochester secured. Last year, Blunt Rochester highlighted the improvements made to the New Castle Building during her annual visit to the Delaware State Fair.

“Delawareans from every corner of our state and folks from across the country flock to Harrington to visit the Delaware State Fair to enjoy all the Fair has to offer, from its informative agriculture education and programming to the incredible food and concerts,” said Rep. Blunt Rochester. “Every year, I look forward to visiting the Fairgrounds to connect with our farmers – new and experienced – to see their work and hear about the innovation taking place right here in Delaware’s agriculture sector, one of the primary economic drivers of our state. I encourage all Delawareans to come out to the Fair this week and experience what has become a ‘must-do’ during summer in the First State!”

The Delaware State Fair runs from Thursday, July 20 to Saturday, July 29. More information on the Delaware State Fair can be found here
