WASHINGTON – Today, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) and Rep. Larry Bucshon M.D. (R-Ind.) released the following statement after Senators Maria Cantwell (D-Wash.) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn.) introduced the Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act, the counterpart to their House legislation (H.R. 6571) introduced in December 2023. Last week, Rep. Blunt Rochester and Rep. Bucshon celebrated House passage of the bill by an overwhelming bipartisan vote of 390 – 19.
“We are so encouraged to see Senators Cantwell and Blackburn introduce the Senate companion to the Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act. Just last week, the House passed this legislation by a striking and overwhelming bipartisan vote. With the Senate’s action today, we are witnessing not only how bipartisan supply chain measures can be, but how united Congress is to take this issue seriously. Supply chains impact every American – no matter where they live or where they come from. The momentum is here, and we remain committed to keeping the United States competitive, reinvigorating our supply chain output, lowering costs for consumers, and creating good-paying jobs. We look forward to working with our Senate counterparts to ensure the Promoting Resilient Supply Chains Act passes the Senate and is ultimately enacted into law.”
