WILMINGTON, Del. — Today, ahead of her second annual resource fair, Congresswoman Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-Del.) released the following statement after her office officially returned over $2 million to Delawareans since 2017. The total number returned includes backlogged benefits, tax refunds, and other retroactive payments from federal agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Social Security, Medicare, and the United States Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). In the 118th Congress so far, Blunt Rochester’s office has resolved more than 2,400 constituent cases with federal agencies. “Getting money back into the pockets of hard-working Delawareans has been and always will be a top priority for me and my team,” said Blunt Rochester. “Having served as a caseworker myself, I’ve seen first-hand how delayed compensation and benefits can impact people’s livelihoods. That’s why I am proud that my office has been able to cut through the red tape for Delawareans who experienced delays in receiving their benefits. My office will continue to provide high-quality constituent services, including at our Constituent Resource Fair this week, to get results for Delawareans.” For assistance with federal agencies and for more information on Blunt Rochester’s Constituent Resource Fair on Thursday, August 15, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in New Castle, Delawareans can visit BluntRochester.house.gov or call the Congresswoman’s Wilmington office at 302-830-2330. ### |
