Blunt Rochester Assigned to House Committee on Education and the Workforce
WASHINGTON, DC – Rep. Blunt Rochester today announced that she was assigned to the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. “I’m honored to be selected to serve on the House Committee on Education and the Workforce. Serving on this committee will empower me to take the knowledge I gained from my time as Delaware’s Secretary of Labor and apply it to the important work that still needs to be done to ensure all people have the opportunity to live full and productive lives. I understand all too well the challenges people are facing in their efforts to find good-paying jobs as well as the struggles business leaders have in finding the skilled employees they need for their businesses to grow and thrive.” “We must ensure our education system, from cradle to career, is fair and comprehensive so we properly and adequately empower and prepare the future business, non-profit and government leaders today. Whether it’s young people in our high schools and colleges, or veterans returning home after having bravely served our country, or unemployed Americans looking to re-enter the workforce, we have the responsibility to support and implement educational and workforce policies that prepare them for long, successful careers.” “Voters in Delaware entrusted me to work on their behalf in Washington, and there is no other responsibility I take more seriously. I look forward to serving on the committee and am excited to get to work on moving Delaware’s agenda forward as well as fulfilling my promise to strengthen our economy and increase access to quality education.”
